Coconut Oil Expeller Process
Expeller-pressed oil is extracted using a machine that screw down and press the oil from the coconut meat. The biggest difference between expeller-presses and cold-pressed oils is the amount of heat produced by the pressing process.
Expeller-pressing can heat the oil up to more than 200 degrees F , which can destroy the structure of the fatty acids, causing them to turn into trans fats. It can also cause harmful free radicals to form, which arent’s something you to put your skin or into your body.
